Word via part time beat wrtier and full time Lions expert Mike O'Hara is Drew Stanton may have moved up the depth chart, leapfrogging Daunte Culpepper for the backup quarterback job. According to O'Hara, Stanton is apparently getting the number two reps in practice.

Stanton in his most recgonizable position, all that's missing is a defensive end on top
Of course, The Schwartz refuses to confirm any change in status, as we all know his mantra regarding the 4th estate is to deny, deny, deny. Then deny some more...
In this bloggers opinion, Stanton becoming the number 2 can't happen soon enough. I even have 25 reasons!
- Culpepper is an 11 year veteran, and thrown 3104 passes in the NFL. Despite all that experience, he stunk out the joint in his two starts. Sure, Stanton stunk out the joint when he replaced Culpepper against the Packers, but he's only thrown all of 28 passes in his entire career. We know what Culpepper can do, and it's not much. We can't say the same about Stanton.
- Stanton is under contract for next season, Culpepper is not.
On second thought, do we really need 23 more reasons, when the two already listed are more than enough?
I think not.
