TWFE presents: Wolverlion's locks for NFL week 7

It being the end of another long week, it's time to pick the winners for NFL week 7. As for week 6, Blane, aka long-time TWFE reader Wolverlion, beat his Hillbilly Huddle listener to up his record on the season to a marvelous 4-1-1.

Remember, the Hillbilly Huddle is aired every Friday and Monday between 7 and 8 AM on the blowtorch of SE MI, 97.5 Y-Country radio, WYTZ FM. You hosts are football expert Wolverlion and 97.5 Y country morning man Wild Bill Lewis.

I have the picks for this week, and a quick note from Wolverlion to boot.

After taking a narrow victory last week, I am nervous about how many road teams I have picked to win. This is the least confident week I have picked to date.

As always, Wolverlion's picks are in bold, while I've added my seat of the pants, not well researched, and totally irrelevant thoughts to each in italics.

The Pack over the Browns in Cleveland. The Pack will handle the hapless Browns on the road. (The Packers, as we witnessed last Sunday, aren't exactly world beaters. But a Browns team with either Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn at the controls, neither of whom are playing like anything remotely resembling an NFL quarterback, are gonna get smoked. The Pack essentially gets a bye for the second week in row.)

The Chargers over the Chiefs in K.C. This one makes me nervous, but the Bolts have to start playing well sometime don't they?...............DON'T THEY????? (Uh...nope? They won't. At this point, with the Broncos running away with the AFC West, the Bolts may have been the most overrated team in the NFL going into the season. They'll likely beat the Chiefs, as they're worse than the Lions, but I'm not expecting much out the Chargers the rest of the season.)

Indy in a blowout at St. Louis. The Rams are worse than bad. (Worse than the Lions, too! This game is over early, but I expect to see plenty of it on the Red Zone channel...with Indy in the red zone. Have I said just how glorious is the Red Zone channel? 'Cause it's awesome! )

Pitt at home handing the Vikings and Favre their first loss of the year. (I'm with Wolverlion, the Vikes luck finally runs out. Well, it'll be either the luck thing, or Favre blows out his bum shoulder. But take the Steelers, they are beginning to play like a legit Super Bowl contender.)

The Patriots over the Bucs in Tampa. The Pats looked like......well the Pats last week in the snow. Maybe that is enough to get Tom Brady and Randy Moss going.
(Jebus, another lousy matchup. The NFL has been full of crap games this season. But I digress... Brady is going to throw for 7 TD's against this bunch of stiffs, as they are as bad, if not more so, than the team he torched last week, the Titans.)

Houston over San Fran in Texas. I am tempted to take the niners with Crabtree coming home, and Gore coming back, but the Texans are a tough out at home.
(I have to part ways with Wolverlion on this game. I LOVE Frank Gore...in a manly way, of course. Crabtree is going to be a non-entity this season. His career may never recover from his extended holdout.  If he does somehow live up to the pre-draft hype down the line, it won't be till 2011 at the earliest, as this season is all but lost, and 2010 will be Crabtree's true rookie season. All the Texans have going for them on offense is Matt Schwab's arm. Steve Slaton, my fantasy team turns its lonely eyes to you... )

The Panthers over the Bills in N.C. Carolina is too good at home for TO and the Bills, even with Jake Delhomme at QB. (Christ Almighty, the bad matchups keep on a comin'!  Have to take the Panthers, even with Delhomme continuing to stink up the joint. The Bills are a BAD team, with a head coach living on borrowed time. And has there ever been more useless free agent signing than the Bills inking TO?)

Oakland at home over the NY Jets. I know, I cannot believe I actually picked the Raiders to win a game, but, Sanchez has looked more and more like a rookie QB in recent weeks. (Oakland is still a bad team, but its become apparent their Jets, and Sanchez for that matter, had been playing WAY over their heads to start the season. They are a mediocre team with a struggling rookie quarterback. But they are better than the Raiders.)

Atlanta on the road over the Cowboys. I hate to pick against the Pokes at home, but I really like this Falcons team. (Cowboys are a .500 team, at best. The Falcons are one of the better teams in the NFC, and definitely better than the 'Boys. I'll also take Matt Ryan over Tony Romo 100 times out of 100.)

Chicago on the road over the Bengals. This is another tough game, does Cedric Benson show the Bears they gave up on him too soon? I doubt it. (I doubt it as well, I'm not a believer in Benson. He's not as good as his early season stats make him out to be. The Bengals aren't as good as their record, either. The Bears will win, even though Jay Cutler has shown quite the knack for throwing some of the most ill-timed picks you'll ever see this side of Jon Kitna.)

New Orleans over Miami in South Beach. The Saints unbeaten season continues this week over the Miami Wildcats. (I'm going with the Chad Henne led and Wildcat crazy Fins. New Orleans may be one of the  best teams in the league, but they aren't going to go undefeated. They are coming off of a big game with the Giants, and will have a letdown game in Miami. Any team can win on any Sunday in the NFL...unless you are...the Rams. You thought I was going to say the Lions, didn't you?)

N.Y. Giants over the Cardinals in the Big Apple. I like the Giants to win at home over AZ in what might be the best game of the weekend.
(The New York football Giants recover from being humiliated by the Saints by taking out their frustrations on the Cards. The Cards are a decent team, but they aren't in the same league as the Giants...well, they are in the same "league" if you want to get all literal about it...)

Monday night, Philly big over Washington in D.C. Is there any truth to the rumor that the Skins are going to be running the Winged T this weekend?
(No, but with Sherman Lewis running Washington's offense, I wouldn't put it past him. The last time ol' Sherm was running an offense, the Wing T was the new hotness...along with the forward pass. The Eagles are still pissed over the Raiders debacle last week, and take out their anger on the hapless 'Skins. And Jim Zorn will die a little more inside...)

It gives me great joy to not pick against the Lions this weekend........thanks to a bye........however, look out next week as I will be picking the Lions to win over the Rams. That will be the first time in a long time. I'm with Blane, I'm not picking against the Lions in the bye week either! Seriously, Detroit will be rightfully favored to beat the punchless St. Louis Rams...if Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson are in the lineup. If the Lions have to go with Drew Stanton or Daunte Culpepper? I don't want to think about it, not this weekend, anyway. I want to ENJOY it!
