Edit 9-23-09: As you can see, the original video of the drunk and ready to fight female Lions fan has been removed by the user. Damn, just as it was going viral, and being picked up by the mainstream media. Anyone finds it, and uploads it to the web, please let me know in the comments. The video is too entertaining to pass on into the internet ether, so a Vikings fan made a copy. What's quickly become a viral video has made it's way back to YouTube. It's been re-posted below. A thank you goes out to KirchInTheD for his sterling detective work.
As one not to miss out on a few extra web hits in posting the videos floating around of a drunk off her ass female Lions fan getting into a fight, then arrested, at the home opener Sunday, I had to post them. A tip 'o the hat goes out to the Highlight Reel and The World of Issac for finding these gems.
The videos include lots of NSFW language, so consider yourself warned. I don't want to be responsible for anyone getting fired.
Really, this is nothing but a blip on the boozing and brawling radar. I used to see this sort of thing on a much larger scale at the wild and woolly Silverdome every Sunday, never mind the gender. Not that I would EVER do such a thing...though I had "friends" who wouldn't think twice.
It's become rare, but as we see, getting piss drunk and wanting to brawl with the opposition still occurs at the more staid atmosphere of Ford Field. It brings a tear to my Silverdome missing eye...almost.
Addendum 11:30PM: The above videos inspired a couple of old school friends of TWFE to reminisce about the craziness Lions fans were witness to weekly at the Pontiac Silverdome, and I just had to put them on the front page. As a fan who attended countless games in Pontiac, I can vouch for their accuracy. If you want more proof Ford Field is a kiddie day care compared to the squared circle of pain we called the Silverdome, read on...
BrianDTW: I probably saw more fights in one "typical" game at the Silverdome as I did in 50 games at Ford Field. Honestly, that's barely even hyperbole. I saw one classic one pitting guys in the first row of the third deck throwing haymakers at each other and I was convinced one or both of them were going over. To this day, I think it's a miracle it never happened (during a Lions game).
Wolverlions: The upper deck of the Silverdome was the original octagon. The best one I ever saw was at the game where Barry went over 2000 against the Jets. Midway through the first quarter, a fight broke out about 20 rows up, on the stairway, and after a couple punches, the two guys got tangled up and fell into a death roll. They slammed into that very short concrete wall and how they did not end up on somebody below I still do not know.
Thanks guys! I love it! Keep 'em coming!
