Tonight, Tigers fans took one on the chin.

That's an out, right? Wrong!
Wednesday night just happened to be my night to cover the Detroit Tigers at Bless You Boys. The game turned out to be one for the history books...in all the wrong ways.
To get my takes on Armando Galarraga being robbed of a perfect game due to one of the worst calls in the history of major league baseball, head over to BYB.
Addendum 6/3/10, 11 pm: With 24 hours to think about it, and after seeing the actions of Armando Galarraga and Jim Joyce since, my thoughts have changed somewhat.
In the end, Galarraga and Joyce come out winners in the perfect game mess. Both handled it better than I could have ever imagined. Galarraga was class personified. I could only hope to be as forgiving as he was shown to be. Joyce admitted he was wrong, and faced the music, consequences be damned. I may not like his call, but you have to respect how he handled the aftermath. There's plenty of other MLB umpires who would have never apologized, or even acknowledge a mistake was made.
There was also a loser.
One Bud Selig. Fuck Bud Lite and his lack of any sort of action. OK, don’t change the call, it’s his right. But if MLB was never going to overturn Joyce’s blown call, then Selig should\ have said so outright, instead of dancing around the elephant in the room in his statement to the press.
Rather than action, or even legitimate reasoning, we got 3 ponderous paragraphs of utterly meaningless bullshit. Absolutely nothing changed.
Just as I expected from a spinless, incompetent puppet. (I apologize to Tom Servo, Crow, Kermit, Kukla and all other puppets for associating you with such a boob)
