I'm sure you're wondering why Matthew Stafford looked like this against the Chicago Bears...

Yes, that's a glove on Stafford's throwing hand.
...and threw moonballs that not even a jumping machine known as Megatron would even dream of catching.

That ball is headed for the front rooooow...
So why was Stafford wearing a glove on his throwing hand?
Stafford was honoring Michael Jackson.
Thought he might get to play wide receiver.
There was a chill in the Lake Michigan air.
They look too cool not to wear.
How about none of the above. Stafford gave the real reason after the loss.
Via @FreepLions, aka beat writer Dave Birkett:
Matthew Stafford played through a fractured right index finger today. Helps explain some of his 4 INTs. Insists it's "not bad"
As to when it happened? Birkett continues on @DaveBirkett:
Stafford's fractured finger occurred when he was hit by Von Miller on the first play after the two-minute warning in first half vs. Denver
That revelation explains quite a bit. But it still doesn't explain why Stafford was throwing like he had 4 fractured fingers and a broken thumb. And for that matter, why an injured and extremely inaccurate Stafford was left in the game to throw 63 passes, setting a Lions' team record.
I have to wonder if Shaun Hill might not have been a better option at some point, especially in garbage time. And most of the 2nd half was just that, garbage. But I have no issues with Stafford playing with a busted finger. I do have issues if it affects his performance...and it looked as if it did against the Bears.
Interceptions happen, even to best of them. But 4 picks, 2 returned for touchdowns, say Stafford was more bothered by his fractured finger than he is letting on to the press.
